Chapter 7 - THE BROTHER NO ONE KNEW EXISTED

Our brother's name was Samuel.
He had been born two years after Evelyn and me.
But unlike us, he had not disappeared.
He had been hidden inside the Hart family's network.
The purpose was simple.
If both daughters ever resurfaced, Samuel would remain the emergency beneficiary.
A final safeguard.
A final heir.
My father had never told us because he feared the family would target him too.
We found him working as a firefighter in Boston.
When we approached him, he thought it was a joke.
Then he saw the DNA results.
He stared at my father.
“You're my father?”
“Yes.”
Samuel laughed.
“You're twenty-six years late.”
My father nodded.
“I know.”
Samuel looked at me.
“And you?”
“My sister.”
“And her?”
“Your twin sister.”
He smiled.
“I thought I was an only child.”
“We all thought the same thing.”
We stood together.
Three siblings.
Three lives.
One family.
We returned to New York.
Samuel wanted no part of the trust.
“No.”
“It belongs to you too.”
“I don't want billions.”
“What do you want?”
He smiled.
“Help people.”
That became the next chapter.
The three of us created the Black Crown Foundation.
The trust would no longer simply preserve money.
It would return stolen assets to victims.
Fund schools.
Medical programs.
Scholarships.
Legal defense.
Our enemies had built fortunes by taking from others.
We rebuilt our family name by giving back.
Julian supported every decision.
He had entered the marriage believing I was a secretive heiress.
He now understood that I had been a prisoner.
One evening, he asked:
“Do you still want to be married to me?”
I looked at him.
“Do you still want to be married to me without the bandages?”
He smiled.
“I've never been more certain.”
I kissed him.
May you like
For the first time, my marriage wasn't a business contract.
It was a choice.
