Chapter 9 - Ethan Confronts His Mother About The Financial Betrayal

Eleanor poured herself a cup of black coffee from the kitchen counter, acting as if nothing out of the ordinary had occurred.
“Well, I hope your dramatic hospital trip is over. It’s about time you brought some discipline back into this household, Ethan,” Eleanor lectured.
Ethan stood up slowly, towering over his mother with a cold, terrifying expression that made her freeze mid-sip.
“Sit down, Eleanor. Your game of deceit and financial theft is officially over,” Ethan commanded, his voice devoid of any warmth.
Eleanor set her coffee cup down with a sharp clatter, her eyes narrowing into an arrogant glare of defensive indignation.
“How dare you speak to your mother with such disrespect! I built this family’s reputation from the ground up!” Eleanor shrieked.
“You built nothing! You stole seventy thousand dollars from my family account and nearly killed my son with your malice!” Ethan shouted.
Marcus stepped forward, sliding a thick stack of federal injunction papers across the marble counter directly in front of her.

“Eleanor Bennett, you are hereby served with a federal asset freeze and an eviction notice from this property,” Marcus stated crisply.
Eleanor stared at the legal documents in sheer, unadulterated horror, her arrogant facade finally shattering completely.
