Chapter 7 - Marcus Vance Takes On The High Stakes Fraud Case

While Chloe stayed by Noah’s hospital bedside, Ethan drove back to their suburban estate to secure vital financial documents.

He parked in the driveway, noticing that Eleanor had already retreated to the guest suite with her designer luggage packed.

Instead of confronting her directly, Ethan pulled out his satellite phone and dialed Marcus Vance, his senior corporate attorney.

“Marcus, I need you at my house within the hour. We are filing emergency criminal and civil charges against my mother,” Ethan stated.

“What happened, Ethan? You sound like a man ready to wage a legal war,” Marcus replied from his Manhattan office.

“She embezzled over seventy thousand dollars of my family funds and endangered my infant son's life through gross neglect.”

“Consider it locked down, Ethan. I’ll bring a team of forensic accountants and municipal process servers with me,” Marcus promised.

Forty minutes later, Marcus’s black sedan pulled up behind Ethan’s vehicle in the manicured suburban driveway.
