Chapter 12 - The Flight to Zurich

Inside the cabin of Lorenzo’s private Gulfstream G700, flying high above the North Atlantic at Mach 0.92, the atmosphere was a mix of quiet domestic comfort and high-level strategic planning.

Ghost lay stretched across the plush carpet of the aisle, snoring softly while Barnaby curled up beside his massive hind legs.

Nina sat across from Lorenzo at the walnut conference table, reviewing a thick dossier stamped with red federal classification markings.

"The account holder of record in Liechtenstein is a shell entity named Aegis Horizon Holdings," Nina read aloud, her finger tracing a complex web of corporate names. "Managed by a man named Victor Vance—a former high-level financial proxy for the Moretti family who fled to Europe before the Astoria raids."

Lorenzo poured two cups of dark Italian espresso, sliding one across the table toward Nina.

"Victor Vance is a ghost who specialized in hiding dirty money behind legitimate shipping manifests," Lorenzo explained, his amber eyes fixed on the map displayed on his digital tablet. "He believes that because he operates outside American jurisdiction, he is untouchable. He doesn't understand that Castellano Logistics controls every major shipping lane entering the Mediterranean."

Nina took a sip of the espresso, feeling the warmth spread through her chest. Six years ago, she had been a terrified girl sweeping broken glass in a burned-out auto shop in Queens, wondering if she would ever eat a hot meal again. Now, she sat beside one of the most powerful men in the underworld, flying across oceans to dismantle the final remnants of the monsters who destroyed her family.

"When we land in Zurich, what’s our first move?" Nina asked, her hazel eyes sparkling with fierce determination.

"We don't go to the bank, and we don't call the authorities," Lorenzo smiled—a rare, predatory smile that made his features look devastatingly sharp. "We go straight to Victor Vance’s private villa overlooking Lake Zurich. We are going to teach him what happens when you try to steal from a Castellano."
