Chapter 10 - A New Dynasty

Six months later.

The Vance estate was no longer a fortress of fear and isolation. The heavy iron gates stood open during the day, welcoming tutors, doctors, and neighbors. Laughter echoed through the halls—the bright, infectious sound of a six-year-old girl playing tag in the gardens.

In the grand kitchen, Clara Hayes stood before the marble island, wearing a tailored, high-end emerald dress that hugged her curves in all the right places, custom-made by a designer Damian had flown in from Milan.

She was plating a fresh batch of cinnamon scones when strong arms wrapped around her waist from behind, pulling her back against a solid, familiar chest.

"They smell incredible," Damian murmured into her neck, pressing a soft kiss against her skin.

"They're for Maya's birthday party," Clara smiled, leaning back into his embrace, her hands resting over his arms. "And if you steal one before the guests arrive, I'm locking you out of the kitchen."

"You wouldn't dare," Damian chuckled, turning her around in his arms so she was facing him. His dark eyes were filled with an absolute, profound adoration.

"Try me," she teased gently.

At the doorway, six-year-old Maya stood holding a tiny paper crown, looking up at them with a wide, gap-toothed grin. "Cee-Cee! Papa! The guests are here!"

Damian looked down at Clara, his expression softening entirely. He reached up, gently brushing a stray lock of hair behind her ear.

"Let them in, family," Damian said softly, taking Clara's hand in his.

And as they walked out into the sunlit garden together, Clara Hayes finally understood what it meant to take up space in the world—not as a ghost hiding in the shadows, but as the beating heart of an empire built on love, courage, and redemption.
