Chapter 5 - THE PLAN FOR REVENGE

The reunion between Adrian and Elena remained secret.
Only Sofia, Lucas, and one trusted attorney knew.
They didn't want revenge through violence.
They wanted something more permanent.
Exposure.
They spent months rebuilding the evidence.
Bank transfers.
Fake medical records.
Insurance documents.
Payments to doctors.
Police reports.
The original accident investigation.
Every piece was connected.
Lucas learned who Adrian really was.
Not the distant billionaire he had imagined.
His father.
The man who had mourned him and his mother.
The two finally spent time together.
At first, it was awkward.
Adrian didn't know what food Lucas liked.
Lucas didn't know what to call him.
“Dad” felt strange.
So they began with Adrian.
Then Father.
Eventually, one night during dinner, Lucas accidentally said:
“Dad, pass the salt.”
The table became silent.
Adrian smiled.
He passed it.
Neither mentioned the moment again.
But everything had changed.
Meanwhile, Elena began returning to society under a new identity.
She attended charity events.
Investment conferences.
Corporate meetings.
At first, people whispered.
Then someone saw her face.
An old executive dropped his glass.
Marianne saw her photograph online.
She went pale.
“That's impossible.”
Victor received the same photograph.
His response was different.
He smiled.
“So she's finally decided to come home.”
The return was deliberate.
Elena wanted them to know she was alive.
She wanted them frightened.
But the final trap required patience.
Adrian announced a major company anniversary gala.
All senior executives would attend.
Victor.
Marianne.
The family board.
The investors.
Everyone.
The event would also include a major announcement concerning the company's future.
Victor believed he would control the evening.
He didn't know the board had already changed.
Independent investigators had been appointed.
Federal agencies had been informed.
And the original records had been authenticated.
Elena prepared carefully.
She wore the same necklace Adrian had given her on their tenth anniversary.
She had kept it for twenty years.
Lucas wore a dark suit.
Adrian stood beside him.
For the first time, father and son entered a room together.
Sofia carried the evidence.
“Everything is ready.”
Adrian nodded.
Elena looked at him.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes.”
“If this goes wrong…”
“It won't.”
She smiled.
“You still sound exactly like the man I married.”
“And you still look exactly like the woman I buried.”
Elena laughed through tears.
Then the ballroom doors opened.
The guests turned.
Victor stood beneath the chandelier.
Marianne beside him.
Both smiled.
Until they saw Elena.
The smile disappeared.
Adrian stepped forward.
“Ladies and gentlemen.”
The room fell silent.
“Tonight, we have something very unusual to announce.”
Elena walked beside him.
Victor nearly dropped his glass.
Marianne whispered:
“No.”
Elena looked directly at them.
“Yes.”
“I'm alive.”
May you like
And behind her stood Lucas.
The son they had never known existed.
