Chapter 9 - The Grand Wedding

Six months later, the Sterling estate hosted the most magnificent wedding the region had ever seen. But unlike the cold, elitist galas of Arthur’s past, this wedding was a celebration of warmth, unity, and love.
Guests from all walks of life filled the grand estate gardens—corporate executives sat alongside estate staff, local townspeople, and beneficiaries of the Marcus Vance Foundation.
The garden path was carpeted with fresh white rose petals. Arthur stood at the altar set near the central fountain, wearing a sharp navy-blue tuxedo. He looked healthy, vibrant, and completely whole, standing tall without any aid.
When the wedding march began, every head turned.
Elena walked down the aisle, looking drop-dead gorgeous in a timeless, elegant lace wedding gown with a sweeping train. She walked alone with quiet grace, her head held high, carrying a bouquet of white lilies and roses.
As she reached the altar, Arthur took her hand, his eyes shining with happy tears.
The officiant, an old family friend, smiled at the couple. "We are gathered here today to unite two hearts that found each other in the quietest of moments and built a love that transformed the world around them."
They exchanged personalized vows.
"Elena," Arthur declared, his voice rich with emotion. "I promise to honor you, respect you, and cherish you every day of my life. I promise to listen to you, protect your dreams, and never let silence take over our home again. You are my anchor, my joy, and my home."
"Arthur," Elena responded, her voice sweet and steady. "I promise to stand by your side through every storm and every sunshine. I promise to love you not for what you have, but for the beautiful, generous soul that you are. You showed me that love can heal the deepest wounds, and I give you my heart forever."

They exchanged rings, and the officiant smiled brightly. "By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Arthur, you may kiss your bride!"
Arthur pulled Elena close, kissing her passionately as the crowd erupted into cheers and joyful applause. Rose petals rained down around them, and the estate bells rang out, echoing across the hills.
