Chapter 8 - THE GRAND CELEBRATION

One year after the infamous birthday party in Long Island, the Montgomery Estate hosted a grand celebration.
It was Lily’s 5th birthday.
This time, there were no rented yards, no rude guests, no fake friends, and no arrogant husbands.
The estate lawn was transformed into a magical fairytale wonderland. Floating flower arches, magnificent carousel rides, live classical orchestras, and ice sculptures lined the grounds. Over three hundred guests attended—including international dignitaries, business leaders, genuine friends, and underprivileged families supported by the Eleanor Foundation.
At the center of the main pavilion stood a magnificent three-tiered pink birthday cake, decorated with delicate hand-carved sugar orchids and golden crowns.
Lily, wearing a custom white lace princess dress, cheered as Julian lifted her onto his shoulders so she could see the entire crowd.
"Mommy, look!" Lily giggled, pointing at the cake. "It's so big!"
Maya, dressed in an elegant pastel green gown, walked up beside them. She looked at the cake, then looked at Julian and Lily. A soft, nostalgic smile crossed her lips.
Samuel Montgomery stepped up to the microphone, his golden cane resting against his side.
"Ladies and gentlemen," Samuel spoke, his deep voice carrying warmth across the lawn. "One year ago, my granddaughter stood in a dark place, surrounded by people who did not recognize her worth. But true royalty is not defined by crowns or riches—it is defined by resilience, grace, and courage. Today, we celebrate not just my great-granddaughter's fifth birthday, but the triumphant spirit of Maya Montgomery!"
The crowd broke into enthusiastic applause and cheers.
Lily blew out her five candles, and the crowd sang happy birthday.
After cutting the first slice, Maya picked up a tiny dab of strawberry frosting on her finger and playfully tapped it onto Julian's nose.
Julian gasped in mock shock, while Lily erupted into hysterical laughter.
"Oh, it's war now," Julian laughed, wiping the frosting onto his napkin before wrapping his arms around Maya's waist and lifting her up into a warm hug.
"Thank you, Julian," Maya whispered into his ear, her arms around his neck. "For everything."
"You deserve the world, Maya," Julian replied softly, looking into her eyes. "And I intend to give it to you."

With the sun setting over the lake, casting golden light across the estate, Julian reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a small velvet box.
He got down on one knee right there on the grass, surrounded by their family and friends.
