Chapter 9 - A New Dawn

A year after the fateful birthday party, our lives looked completely different.
Liam resigned from his high-stress corporate job and used a portion of the court-ordered restitution from Marcus to launch a small, independent woodworking studio—a passion he had put on hold for over a decade. Chloe, now four years old, was running through the grass, chasing butterflies and laughing uncontrollably. Liam was sitting on a picnic blanket next to me, his arm wrapped comfortably around my waist, sipping a cold drink.
