They watched once.

Dylan’s body tightened.
Then his own voice:
My dad was hurt.
Mrs. Carter:
You still pay.
Second strike.
Third.
Threat.
The video ended.
Jake said nothing.
Dylan looked at his left hand.
No mark.
Memory anyway.
“Delete it.”
Jake did.
Recently Deleted.
Delete permanently.
Official copies remained in sealed district and court records as required.
But Dylan’s worst classroom moment no longer lived casually on his best friend’s phone.
