Margaret avoided arrest initially.
She claimed Victor controlled the clinic.
Then Rebecca produced recordings.
Margaret knew.
Approved embryo substitutions.
Pressured doctors.
Ordered employees to “protect the family.”
But there was one difference.
Margaret had not known Victor planned to relocate Elena.
When she learned, something changed.
For the first time, she agreed to cooperate.
Victor called her a traitor.
Margaret responded:
“I became one years ago.”
She turned over ledgers.
Private keys.
Offshore records.
Names.
Her cooperation did not erase her crimes.
But it helped uncover dozens of victims.
Elena visited her once before trial.
Margaret cried.
“I thought keeping the company alive protected everyone.”
