Jonathan Vance had disappeared before the police arrived.
His phone was off.
His accounts were empty.
His passports were gone.
Thomas traced a transfer.
Millions had moved through an offshore company.
The company was registered under a name Clara didn't recognize.
Northstar Holdings.
Richard stared at the account.
“That was Jonathan's company.”
“How long has it existed?”
“Eight years.”
Thomas shook his head.
“He's been preparing for this for a long time.”
Clara sat quietly.
“What does he want?”
“Control of the estate.”
“The company.”
“The family trust.”
“And you.”
“Me?”
Thomas nodded.
“Your inheritance.”
Clara felt a strange calm.

Evelyn's confession.

Jonathan was located two days later at a private airport.
He was attempting to leave the country.
When investigators arrested him, he asked only one question:
“Where is Clara?”
The officer replied:
“She is at home.”
Jonathan smiled bitterly.
“Then I have already lost.”
Weeks later, the court confirmed that Clara had been completely framed.
The theft accusation was dismissed.
Evelyn was charged with fraud and conspiracy.
Jonathan faced additional charges for financial crimes, identity manipulation, and attempted inheritance fraud.
Richard restored Clara's position as his sole protected heir.
But Clara requested a change.
She didn't want control just because she was the heir.
She wanted the family wealth placed under independent oversight.
She wanted transparent accounts.
She wanted no future child to be used as a financial weapon.
Richard agreed.
For the first time, father and daughter worked together.
