Chapter 10 - A Life Restored

One year later.
The grand ballroom of the Cray estate was filled with bright sunlight, beautiful white floral arrangements, and soft piano music. Hundreds of guests—legitimate business partners, community leaders, and close friends—gathered to celebrate our wedding day.
I stood before a full-length mirror in the bride's dressing room, wearing a stunning lace wedding gown. My hair was styled in soft waves, and the diamond ring on my left hand caught the light beautifully.
A gentle knock sounded at the door, and Dominic walked in, looking striking in a tailored black tuxedo.
"You look absolutely breathtaking, Elena," he said, stepping toward me with unconditional admiration in his eyes.
"You look pretty good yourself, Mr. Cray," I teased, smiling as he wrapped his arms gently around my waist.
Marcus rushed into the room wearing a tiny matching tuxedo, holding a velvet ring pillow. "Mommy! Dominic! It's time!"
We both laughed, bending down to hug our little boy.
Hand in hand, Dominic, Marcus, and I walked out into the grand hall together. The guests stood up, applauding warmly as we made our way toward the alter set up near the conservatory—the very room where our journey had begun two years ago.
As the vows were exchanged and the minister pronounced us husband and wife, Dominic pulled me close for a sweet, passionate kiss. The room erupted into cheerful applause.
During the reception, as soft music filled the grand hall, Dominic took my hand and led me out onto the quiet sun deck. Marcus was nearby, playing happily with Gabe and the staff members who had become like extended family to us.
Dominic pulled me close against his chest, resting his chin gently on top of my head as we watched the sunset painting the sky in shades of orange and purple.
"Listen," Dominic whispered softly in my ear.
I smiled, turning my head up to look at him. "What am I listening for?"
"The birds in the garden, the music inside, your laughter..." Dominic said, his dark eyes shining with deep emotion. "For three years, I lived in total darkness and silence. Today, my world is full of the most beautiful sounds in the world."

I leaned up and kissed his cheek gently. "And we're always here to listen with you."
Dominic held me tight as the stars began to twinkle in the evening sky. The fears of the past were gone, the betrayals conquered, and the silence broken forever. Together, we had built a home rooted in trust, courage, and unconditional love—a life restored, and a future full of promise.
