Chapter 10 - The Horizon of Tomorrow

Five years after the night in Valle de Bravo, our lives had blossomed into a rich tapestry of joy and fulfillment. Alejandro and I welcomed our first child, a healthy baby girl whom we named Victoria—a tribute to the triumph of light over darkness.

Holding Victoria in my arms in our quiet garden in Pedregal, I looked at Alejandro as he carefully arranged a baby blanket around her shoulders. His eyes reflected the deep, unwavering devotion that had saved my life years ago.

“She has your eyes, Vale,” he whispered, kissing my temple.

“And she will have your kind heart,” I smiled, leaning into his shoulder. “And most importantly, she will grow up knowing what a real, loving family feels like. She will never have to earn our love through sacrifice.”

We spent the evening sitting together under the jacaranda trees, listening to the soft murmur of the breeze through the purple blossoms. The painful past was no longer a shadow hanging over me; it was simply the rock upon which my strength was forged.

I had lost a toxic family, but in doing so, I had claimed my true life, a noble husband, a flourishing purpose, and a beautiful child. As the stars filled the Mexico City sky, I knew with absolute certainty that no matter what storms might ever come, our foundation of love, justice, and truth was unbreakable.
