Chapter 6 - Diane Morrison Finally Learns What the Mansion CostsDiane refused to leave the mansion.

Hartwell Property Holdings sent formal notice terminating her residential privilege.
She called it illegal.
Then called reporters.
Bad decision.
Her first television interview aired Monday morning.
“I am being evicted by a bitter former daughter-in-law because of a harmless family joke.”
The interviewer asked:
“Did the joke involve pouring a bucket of dirty water over a woman who was thirty-three weeks pregnant?”
Diane blinked.
“It has been exaggerated.”
The video leaked that afternoon.
Not from me.
Investigators still had the original.
Apparently one of Diane’s guests recorded it too.
The public watched her smile.
Watched Brendan laugh.
Watched Jessica mock my clothes.
Then watched me calmly call Arthur.
Diane’s attempt to make me look unstable did the opposite.
By Tuesday, every company board on which she sat requested her resignation.
By Wednesday, charitable organizations removed her name.
Thursday brought worse news.
The audit discovered she had authorized personal expenses as advisory “stakeholder engagement.”
Over $2.3 million.
Her attorney recommended silence.
For once, she listened.
Hartwell gave her thirty days to vacate.
She left in twelve.
No dramatic eviction.
No security throwing luggage into the snow.
I did not need humiliation.
Accountability was enough.

The mansion was later sold.
I never wanted to see that dining room again.
