Chapter 10 - THE GOLDEN HOUR

A year after the night that almost destroyed them, the Sterling family gathered once again at the Fort Lauderdale Marina.
The Golden Hour, now completely repaired and upgraded with state-of-the-art security, rested gently on the calm water under a brilliant September sunset. The sky was painted in shades of gold, magenta, and deep orange.
Captain Sam stood at the gangway, dressed in his immaculate whites, smiling broadly as the family approached.
"Permission to board, Captain?" Richard called out with a warm smile.
"Permission granted, Mr. Sterling," Sam replied warmly. "All systems clear, water conditions perfect."
Luna ran down the pier—not in bare, dirty feet, but in bright red boat shoes and a beautiful yellow summer dress. Her dark hair was neatly brushed and gleaming in the sunlight. Behind her, Peter chased after her, laughing as they raced to see who could reach the deck first.
"I won!" Luna shouted joyfully, leaning over the smooth wooden railing of the yacht.
Marina walked up beside her husband, slipping her hand into his. "She looks so happy, Richard."
"She belongs here," Richard replied softly, putting his arm around Marina’s shoulders.
As the Golden Hour slowly backed out of the slip and navigated into the open ocean channel, the engines hummed smoothly beneath them. Dolphins broke the surface of the water off the starboard bow, jumping through the golden light of the setting sun.
Peter pointed frantically. "Look, Luna! Dolphins!"
May you like
Luna laughed—a clear, ringing sound that filled the warm evening air—and held onto the railing, her eyes bright with wonder as she looked out at the infinite ocean ahead of her.
She was no longer the forgotten girl on the pier. She was safe, she was cherished, and she was finally home.
